The End of Power (Fun)

Before discussing how power comes to an end, Moisés Naím found out his definition of power from the works of various scholars by quoting classics: by exercising power, an individual can drive other individuals to do things they would never do.

And power is usually exercised in four forms:
1. The Muscle: The most obvious is that power is represented by strength. In addition to force, it also includes the power that can change the material conditions of those who are in power. For example, the boss can fire an employee, and the parent can keep the child from footing, thereby reflecting the power of the person in power.
2. The Code: In addition to religious precepts, it also includes cultural customs, social values, etc. that have been passed down through the society from generation to generation, and established by conventions. It is these creeds that empower religious leaders and elders in the community. Both creed and power show that disobedience to power will bring bad results, but the result of power is presented in material, and creed is presented in spiritual value.
3. The Pitch: In a commercial society, everyone is busy spending money on advertising and marketing to build brands. They just want to master the power of lobbying and convince those who are given power to obey the power to have better results. For example, Driving a certain brand of car makes you more tasteful, and people living in a certain neighborhood are rich people and so on.
4. The Reward: I often hear people say: I would not do this if it was not for any reward. This is the power of reward: you can get better rewards if you obey power, it may be money, it may be better job opportunities, and so on. The same as lobbying is that as long as you obey power, you can get better results, but the results of lobbying are presented in spiritual value, and the results of rewards are presented in material.

Moisés Naím summarized the 3M revolution in the book: More, Mobility and Mentality.
1. More:
Increasing is a general trend since the middle of the last century, with more population, more countries, more companies, and more families. Economic progress and improved health and medical conditions have brought about population growth. This has caused two major difficulties for those in power to exercise power. The diversification brought about by population growth makes it difficult for those in power to use a single method to exercise power; the improvement of material living conditions makes it more difficult for those in power to exercise power.
2. Mobility:
The exercise of power requires a fixed audience. A national leader needs citizens, and a business owner needs employees. If citizens or employees can immigrate or resign as they please, it will be difficult for those in power to exercise power. In addition to the flow of population, the opening and circulation of information is also contributing to the decline of power. Diverse and readily available information allows the audience to see more possibilities, not just to obey the power in front of them. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why the control of information channels is a must and must be done in every totalitarian country.
3. Mentality:
Inheriting the changes of the 2 M above, the improvement of material conditions makes people no longer only pay attention to the most basic living conditions; after being exposed to more possibilities in the world, more spiritual changes are derived and more different values are derived The pursuit and so on. In many countries, political parties have emerged to respond to specific issues, such as environmental protection, worker welfare, etc.; in business, there are also more and more innovations focused on solving specific needs, eroding the profits of giant enterprises.

In a society that generally agrees with democracy, one must realize that excessive pursuit of democracy, that is, micro-power, is also extremely dangerous. Take freedom of speech as an example. Although it can positively spread the truth and transfer knowledge, it can also spread false information to create chaos, even promote secret agendas, and even spread extremism and terrorism.
Excessive power decentralization is as dangerous as excessive power concentration. Only by being aware of this can human beings stop the decline of power until the complete disorder described in the book.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
