This article is dedicated to another great player in the e-sim community: gabberattack

It is an interview with a few questions to better understand the player behind the screen. Hope you enjoy it!

1. How are you doing these days?
Well, I am quite busy right now at work with little time for gaming. These 2 weeks, we have only 4 workdays with a holiday being on Wednesdays. However, I have to finish a 5-day workload regardless, so I am at work until 6-7 PM almost every day.

2. Tell us something about yourself, it is up to you what from RL you want to share.
I am probably one of the most senior players here, now having a family and job that takes most of my time. Every year, there is less and less time for gaming, and I am sure that pretty soon I will start thinking about retiring from online gaming as I have other interests that are becoming more important. Right now, I love going to the mountains for weekends. I bought a nice log cabin/cottage in Blue Ridge Mountains where I spend many weekends—yep, there is only a very slow archaic DSL internet and no cellphone signal there.

I have some plans now on building a shooting range there to practice my RL shooting skills and an underground bunker in case of a civil war or military conflict in the USA. So, I am expecting to be quite busy for the next few years.

3. When and how did you start with Esim?
Well, after became unplayable (who remembers with Romper winning the battles against the whole rest of the server alone?), I switched to eSim. This was years and years ago, I can’t remember the exact time, but my Secura account (my oldest account) is 4472 days old (as of 12/29/2024) – that makes it 12+ years ago.

4. What motivates you to play Esim?
I guess it became a habit for me now to log in every morning. I do not want to quit after all that time spent here—good memories of the good times.

5. Are you a lonely wolf or more of a team player?
I am a lonely wolf here where I am, although I play in a small team of people. I do not know many people in my area playing this game; there are just a few Americans/Canadians on the whole North American continent on eSim. Most of my teammates are from my home country, Slovakia. That helps me keep in touch with my old home and not forget the language.

6. Which servers are you playing, and which one do you like the most?
Secura was the first one; it became dead a few years ago, but I am still there as mentioned above. Currently, I am quite active on Luxia and on the temp server Viva. I have accounts also on Alpha and Primera, but I did not find them interesting and am not active there.

7. What does your nickname mean, what inspired you to use it?
Oh that? Gabber Attack was the name of the music magazine I used to publish in high school about the gabber music that was popular in the 90s in Eastern Europe. I would have to look somewhere in my storage for the copies; they should be still there somewhere. The magazine went bust after I graduated, but I liked the name, so I used it later in online gaming.

8. Is there anything you would like to still achieve in e-Sim?
I am planning to get good Q8 equipment on at least one permanent server. There is not much else that I am missing from my achievements.

9. What are your hobbies in RL?
I have mentioned already above going to the mountains. I like river kayaking, hiking, and spending time outside in the mountains (I hate beaches and the sea overall). I have plans to purchase more land at my mountain property and start a small farm there once my job becomes too hectic and I decide to retire from it.

10. Do you have any favorite quotes?
Not quotes, but I am a big fan of Chuck Norris jokes, like:
“Chuck Norris doesn’t flush the toilet. He scares the sh*t out of it.”

11. What do you think is the biggest human weakness?
Greed. Greed is the first step into other weaknesses and leads humans to committing all other sins.

12. What do you think people should change to make the world a better place?
Because Discord is very chaotic and annoying, there are too many channels and rooms, and notifications disturb me a lot. Even when I disable them, I log in to see 300-400 new messages, and I simply don't have time to read them all.

13. Is there any gif you would like to have in the article with your interview?

14. What is your favorite meal?
Hungarian goulash.

15. Who from your e-Sim history is/was your best mate?
I think it was Mororus 9 ([url][https://secura.e-sim.org/profile.html?id=339300/url]) on Secura. He brought the whole idea of creating Revolver MU and so on. However, he stopped playing a long time ago.

16. If you should describe your playstyle, how would you describe it?
Slow and steady wins the race.

18. The Sea or mountains?
Mountains. Currently, I am in love with Blue Ridge Mountains.

19. Pizza or Kebab?
Pizza, New York style. I used to work in a very good NY pizza place as a student. Since then, I am very picky, and I eat only high-quality pizzas. I tried kebab when I lived in Prague, and it was OK; however, kebab is “emergency food” for me. When all other food stores are closed, I’ll eat it. Kebab cannot be compared in taste to the thin-crust pizza pie.

BONUS QUESTIONS

2. Was there any time period in e-Sim that was so difficult it almost made you leave the game?
The internal fights in the Slovak community on Secura were very sad. Together, we could win any server, and we are doing it now on Viva. I am happy that this is finally happening.

4. What has been your proudest achievement in eSim, and what strategies or actions led you to that success?
The creation of the Revolver Military Unit on Secura and mastering the economy system there, which I had to manage mostly on my own after the Slovak community split.

Audience Questions:

Question: Why are you not active on Discord?
Because Discord is very chaotic and annoying, with too many rooms and channels, and notifications disturb me. Even with notifications off, I often log in to 300-400 new messages, and I simply don’t have time to read them all.

Question: How did you perceive the division of the Czechoslovak community on Secura? Was it a loss?
Yes, it was a loss, but sadly, it was inevitable. The core values of the groups in the Czech Republic and Slovakia differed greatly, roughly corresponding to today's political divisions into progressive and conservative parts. The inability of these two groups to collaborate only increased over time. We see this even in reality today; it’s impossible. Sometimes it’s better to separate than to stay in constant conflict.

Thank you, gabberattack ! o7

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
